2012 OKUMA Nationals
New Zealand Angling and Casting Association in association with Feilding Surfcasting Club
The Feilding Surfcasting Club would like to invite all members of the NZACA to come and compete in the 2012 Okuma Nationals. 28th to 31st March 2012 with HQ at the Manfield Events Centre.
To negate any adverse weather situations the boundaries for this competition include West South and East coasts with 95% of boundaries within 2 hours drive of Feilding.
Accommodation: Feilding has in excess of 400 bed nights available however there are also Palmerston Nth, Sanson, Bulls and Marton all within about 10 minutes drive.
Charter Operators: 15 registered within the boundaries. Wanganui Boating Club and Waitarere Fishing Club are also willing to offer assistance to launching private boats.
All events will be based at Manfield in Fielding with the old grandstand for the horse racing track providing most facilities. Times provided below are flexible
Current proposed timetable of events:
Wed 28th March 8am distance casting
Wed 28th 4pm AGM
Wed 28th 6pm Briefing
Thurs 29th Fishing from 5am for all competitors. Boat/kayak to stop by 7pm.
Voluntary weigh station will be in operation
Fri 30th In line for weigh-in by 4pm. Boat/kayak to start again at 5am – landbased never stopped if they were keen. We will have bar facilities and food.
Sat 31st 8.30am Accuracy. To be finished by 12 noon
Sat 31st 3pm prizegiving
Sat 31st 6pm dinner to be followed by live entertainment (band of some description)
